Job Growth Wales+, a brand new Welsh Government training and development programme, launches April 1st 2022 at ISA Training.
The programme is designed to help young people aged 16-18 gain the skills and knowledge they need to move into employment, training or further education.
Participants will gain access to free training, work placements and paid jobs with local employers. They will leave with a Level 1 qualification in their chosen route as well as an Essential Skills in Digital Literacy, putting them in the perfect position to continue their career development with a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
Skills Manager, Sam Azzopardi, said: “It’s a great opportunity for young people who might need some extra support especially if they have a flair for hair, make-up, or nails as it can be the perfect route to help them gain skills and progress on to an apprenticeship. It is also a great way for employers to bring fresh new talent into their business. They can inspire the next generation of hairdressers, barbers, beauty therapist and nail technicians, at no extra cost to them, whilst supporting local young people in their community.”
Young people must be aged 16 – 18, living in Wales and not in full-time education or employment to be eligible for Job Growth Wales+. They can receive up to £55 training allowance, with additional support offered to those with extra barriers such as childcare or travel costs.
With Job Growth Wales+ Educ8 Training can help young people, regardless of their background or circumstances, to reach their full potential.
