Can you create a new job for an unemployed young person aged 16-24 to gain valuable work experience?

We can help your business by:

  • Advertising your job opportunities for you through Jobs Growth Wales Live.
  • Reimbursing the National Minimum Wage for the age of the young person for  26 weeks for a minimum of 25 hours and maximum of 40 hours per week.
  • Providing you and the young person with support for the duration of the 26 weeks via a mentoring plan.

Benefits for you:

  • Wage subsidy for 6 months.

Criteria for participation:   

  • Jobs must be additional  to your existing workforce.
  • A quality job opportunity must be offered for the young person to gain valuable experience.
  • A job description and contract of employment must be drawn up for the role.
  • The young person has  to be gainfully employed and part of your  workforce for 6 months.

What happens at the end of the programme?
It is our hope that the young person will gain sustained employment with you and progress onto an apprenticeship.
