Support from West Wales

I travelled West yesterday for three really productive meetings. First I stopped at Lara Johnson Lifestyle Salon in Mumbles, where I really did witness training as it should be. I met with owners Lara and Dom who are going to get all of their stylists State Registered and Associate Membership for manager Becky. Lara is really keen to work with me on my campaign for raising the professionalism of the sector and I am really looking forward to working with her.

Next stop was with Andrew Price where we discussed setting up an Employer Forum, to discuss all aspects of regulation and business issues that affect the Hair and Beauty Sector directly. All of Andrew’ stylists across his chain are becoming State Registered, really setting the bar for others in West Wales to follow.

My final meeting was with Kevin Francis from Kevin’s Unisex Salon, Burry Port, Kevin has recently met with Nia Griffiths MP and Lee Waters AM to talk about the hair and beauty sector and the Economic Impact Report that we commissioned last year.

I really enjoyed getting out and about yesterday and I am going to do it more often, it is really energising to spend time with likeminded people who have the interests of the wider Hair and Beauty Sector right at the heart of their business!
