What to expect studying nails and beauty therapy
Our nail and beauty courses give you the opportunity to get paid to learn. Train directly within the salon with one to one support from one of our beauty trainer coaches. Our trainer coaches are experts within their field with extensive experience working in the beauty industry.
Meet monthly to book in your assessments and receive additional support via our online learning platform, Moodle. With a wide range of resources available, you will have everything you need to complete your qualification. Each course contains mandatory and optional units. Choose what you’d like to learn based on your interests and the needs of the business.
What you will learn during your beauty apprenticeship
Our Level 2 Beauty Therapy course will give you the essential skills to work in a beauty salon. You will learn to promote products and services to clients, fulfil salon duties and carry out a variety of beauty treatments. Our Level 3 Beauty Therapy – Massage course will focus on improving your massage techniques, specialising in a variety of body and head massage treatments.
Enrol in our Level 2 Nail Services apprenticeship to effectively promote services and products to clients while mastering various nail art techniques. Progressing to Level 3 Nails, you will receive comprehensive training on enhancing and maintaining nails through the application of UV gel and liquid powder.
Different levels of beauty apprenticeships
The Level 2 Beauty Therapy program is designed for those seeking to cultivate a diverse skill set, covering everything from skincare to manicures, waxing, and lash treatments. Alternatively, our Level 2 Nails qualification is tailored for individuals with a passion for nails, aspiring to become adept nail technicians.
For those with more industry experience, Level 3 provides an ideal progression from Level 2. The Level 3 Beauty Therapy – Massage course elevates massage techniques, allowing professionals to deliver a truly unique and relaxing experience to their clients. Similarly, our Level 3 Nails qualification caters to seasoned nail artists aiming to enhance their expertise in creating exceptional nail art.
Level 2 Beauty Therapy
18 Months
Our qualification guarantees you’ve got the knowledge to kickstart your career in the beauty industry. You will learn how to promote services and products to clients, fulfil salon reception duties, as well as spread your artistic wings with make-up services. Suitable for those with drive, enthusiasm and a passion for the beauty industry.
Level 3 Beauty Therapy - Massage
18 Months
Our qualification is ideal for experienced beauty therapists who are looking to specialise in massage, and is especially suited to those who have completed our Level 2 Beauty Therapy apprenticeship. Develop your skills further so you can provide your clients with the best experience possible. You will learn promotional and organisational activities, alongside key massage techniques.
Level 2 Nail Services
18 Months
Our qualification will provide you with foundation knowledge to develop your nail artistry skills when beginning work as a beauty therapist. You will learn essential services including manicure and pedicure, and you will get the opportunity to showcase your artistic talents. This is perfect for those who are new to the industry and aspiring to become a skilled nail technician.
Level 3 Nail Services
18 Months
Boost your career further with a focus on advanced nail techniques and allow your creativity to flourish. Our qualification is suitable for experienced nail technicians. You will also learn how to contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities.

What happens after your beauty course
When you complete your course, you will receive a nationally accredited qualification highlighting your achievement. Your certificate will be sent to you to support future employment opportunities and progression. You will be invited to attend our annual graduation ceremony – Gradu8, where you can celebrate your success with friends and family.
Once you’ve completed your Level 2 qualification in nails or beauty, chat to your employer about progressing onto a Level 3 qualification. Interested in wellness and healthcare? Beauty Therapy apprenticeships in Wales FAQs
Our course duration can vary depending on the level you study. Our Level 2 Beauty Therapy and Nail Service apprenticeships can take approximately 15 months to complete. Whereas our Level 3 courses in Beauty Therapy – Massage and Nails can take around 18 months to complete.
Our nail and beauty courses are free. All our courses are funded by the Welsh Government which means there’s no cost to train with us. Apply direct to one of our apprenticeship vacancies and study debt-free.
Once you’ve completed your nail or beauty apprenticeship you will receive a certificate of completion which can be used to evidence your achievement.
All our apprenticeships are delivered in the workplace. You will train directly within the salon. Some units will be completed remotely and online using our learning platform, Moodle. Moodle has a range of resources for you to access any time to help support your learning.
